Title below the image: 'No. 1396 -- One of the trim, powerful Auxiliary Minesweepers built by the General Engineering and Dry Dock Company, Alameda, California'. Reverse has in pencil: 'This is what my ship looks like. Only we do not have Camraflage.' Size: L 3 1/2 x W 5 1/2 inches. History of Object: A postcard of a minesweeper built by an Alameda shipbuilding company. Apparently sent inside an envelope from a sailor on a similar ship. The postcard was possibly purchased in an online auction or antiques venue, as it came in a plastic sleeve with sticker with number 4746 on it.
