Bent wood arms support a curved backrest. The seat is attached to a metal revolving frame and shaft that is secured to a four legged base, supporting a circular footrest. Size: height-43 inches, seat diameter-16 inches. Note: Back rest- elm, footrest- oak, legs & seat frame- birch. History of Object: Revolving telephone operator’s chair from the old Alameda Telephone Company, 2152 Central Avenue, Alameda, Ca. Given to Grace Hall Smith upon her retirement.
