Description: Double-seam, amber partially pressed glass bottle with original silver-colored and tan (possibly originally white) label, stating 'R. Postel', 'Old Kentucky Club Type', 'Hand Made', 'Cor. Park St. and Alameda Ave., Alameda, Cal.' Bottom has embossed letters M M and two stars. The seams stop under the ridge stopping the cork.

History of Object: Bottle from the liquor business of Rudolph William August Postel (~1847-1920), who changed the name from Postel Brothers, after having bought out his brother Arnold Ernst around 1901. The address was 1331 Park Street in 1901; in 1910 at 1401 Park Street, in 1912 1413 Park Street. Brother Arnold owned the Postel building at 1330-1332 Park St. where he was shot in 1921.
