History of Object: Alameda City Police Department Annual Report for the 1971 calendar year. Prepared by City Manager, H. D. Weller, and Chief of Police, Richard Young. The report is dedicated to the memory of Sergeant Charles Arthur Donahue, who passed that year due to illness. Report includes information about crimes, staffing and services, and other police matters, and is illustrated with photos almost on ever second page. In the introduction the Chief mentions a reorganization into a Field Operations division and Auxiliary Services division, and the first major civil disobedience demonstration for which outside help was called in - a demonstration outside the Naval Air Station to stop deploying of the U.S.S. Coral Sea. A history mentions the 1970s bringing the computer to law enforcement.
This was a superfluous copy from the Alameda Free Library Alameda Collection.
