Description:
a. Semi-Porcelain soup bowl, white with stylized border (transfer) of red, green, yellow and white flowers & leaves on a blue background. The emblem (transfer) of the Alameda Sanatorium (later Hospital), consisting of a red cross encircled by green oak leaves is also included as part of the dishes decoration. No manufacturer’s stamp on base.
Size: D-3 3/4, H-2¼ inches.
b. Saucer with matching design and emblem. On the reverse side the manufacturer’s signature "O.P.Co., Syracuse China, M-6" and pattern name "Encanto", design copyrighted is stated.
Size: D-5½ inches.
History of Object: Bowl (soup) & saucer, official china used in the then new Alameda Sanatorium (Hospital), circa 1925.
