Organized-1885," On the reverse side the plate is signed "Rhythm by Homer Laughlin, U.S.A, F55N4." Also included is a short history of the organization of the church, etc.

Commemorative plate of the Santa Clara Avenue Methodist Church, 8th and Santa Clara Avenue, Alameda, organized 1885. The plate depicts the second Church which was erected in 1929 and destroyed by fire in 1972.
