Object: Easter egg Description: Cardboard egg covered in decorated paper (lithograph) consisting of cream colored background with orange, blue, red, brown flowers, accentuated with gold. Interior of egg is lined with red pattern paper (flowers) signed "Made in Western Germany." Size: L-4½ inches History of Object: A decorated egg (paper) that was added to Miss. Clark's Easter decorations after World War 2. However, it is hand made and demonstrates the skill in fabrication that her earlier eggs project. Acquired from: Eleanor Clark Date: 12-18-82 Note: The following collection of Easter decorations were donated by Eleanor Clark (born 1906). The bulk of the collection was given to her as a child. She was the daughter of Herbert D. & Adelle Mitchell Clark, old time residents of Alameda. The Clark family came to Alameda in the late 1870's. Her paternal grandfather R. Frank Clark was an early insurance agent here, as was her father Herbert D. Herbert D. Clark was an original member & founder of the Alameda Historical Society.
