Description: A phonograph in wooden cabinet with dark mahogany finish, short cabriolet legs, hinged lid, delicate sound grille, and phonograph storage space divided into 4 slots, with alphabetized cardboard storage holders, behind two hinged doors, with keyhole on the right door. Inside lid has a logo picked out in gold: Sonora, with a bell behind the a. Above this are the words "The Instrument of Quality" and below "Clear as a Bell'. Below that, two circular emblems and underneath that, a painted ribbon-banner stating: Highest Score for Tone at Panama Pacific Exposition 1915. Finally below that, is a transfer decal stating: Max Franck & Son, Alameda, Cal.

History of Object:
Phonograph in cabinet of the Fenn family, bought at Franck's music store, which was on Park Street. Object must have been purchased after 1915. The Sonora Company closed in 1930.
