No. 85.18.1 Subject Category: Household Date or period: Ca. 1920 Object: Mirror, console Description: Oblong cast gesso framed (gilt) mirror, flanked by two lithograph prints (reproduced 18th century English portraits), softly tinted to appear as water colors. One print is entitled "Age of Innocence", the other “Simplicity” both by Sir Joshua Reynolds. Size: H-15 inches, length-44 inches. History of Object: Mirror which originally hung in the reception hall of the Wallace & Edna Merriam home, 1324 Caroline Street, Alameda. The Merriams were old time residents of the City. Mr. Merriam was an assistant manager, Alameda office, American Trust Co. Acquired from: Mrs. Betty C. MacIntosh Date: 3-17-85
