Description: World War II blood donor program material belonging to Addie Pitts of Alameda, consisting of:
(A) A letter-sized envelope with "Alameda Chapter of The American Red Cross, 2083 Central Avenue, Alameda, Calif.," below is a cross printed in red ink as a return address. The envelope is addressed to Addie Pitts, 917 Walnut St., Alameda and is postmarked Sept. 22, 1942.
(B) A blood donor information pamphlet in which two bronze 9/16" diameter lapel buttons are attached, inscribed, "American Red Cross Blood Donor Program."
(C),(D) Two American Red Cross blood donor certificates on their versos they credit Addie Pitts with blood donations made on various dates.
(E) A postal card requesting that Mrs. Pitts appear at Washington Park on June 11, 1944 to receive an American flag as part of a Flag Day program for Gallon Club Blood Donors.
(F) The American flag (size: 7 1/2 x 11") presented to her at this ceremony.
History of Object: This material is part of the Addie Pitts estate bequeathed to the donors.
