Lathe turned back splats (11) and 2 front rungs. Exposed iron pins (2) are attached to the chair arms and through the seat and connected to upper side rungs, for strength, Applied wood seat (not original). Finger grip in top rail. Size: 35 inches tall, 19x18 inches across widest part of seat, 18 inches from floor to seat. History of Object: Found in the attic of City Hall, this chair represents one of the few surviving examples of original office furniture used there, circa 1895.
