Folder tab (missing a section) states ‘Fire’ L 14 3/4" x W 9" History of Object: Documents found in the attic of City Hall, relating to the Fire Department, including an 1919 employee roster with name, address, rank, employment date, and salary and 1920 update; Fire Department examination form and application by Edward Platz; information about various fire engines (Seagrave, American La-France, Stutz); 1933 Rules and Regulation booklet, and miscellaneous correspondence, such as a report by Chief Steinmetz on the California Girls Training Home, after a fire (1920); 1943 report with photos from Chief Lane to City Manager Don C. McMillan, on the house at 2310 Lincoln Ave (later location of the Linoaks Motel, now site of Alameda Free Library main branch building), and of troubles finding alternative housing for the poor occupants.
