No. 21.15.1 A, B Subject Category: Businesses of Alameda; Clothing Retail Date or Period: 1970s Object: Wooden Hanger (2) Description: Wooden Hangers, with a shaped top section and metal hook and pants rod attached with thick metal wire. Wire is attached with a triple coil on one end, crossing over the pants bar, and coiled once on the other end before attaching to the hanger section. Hook has a straightened section, and ends in a loop. One 'arm' of hanger section has a stamped or carved legend: 'Wishbone, Batts - Grand Rapids - Mich'. In the center a yellow and black label has been applied, stating: 'Tailored by Timely Clothes’, ‘Walt's Men's Shop, Alameda'. On B. The text has worn off. Size: 17” x 9” History of Object: Wooden hanger used to display clothing at Walt's Men's Shop, corner of Park and Santa Clara.
