Description: What appears to be an ivory miniature of a court lady of the 18th Century. She is contained in an ornate ormolu-style frame that might have been originally gold plated. The portrait is inset and framed with metal on a silk brocade background. Below the picture is a brass plaque engraved "Marie Leczinski, Reine de France". The portrait subject was the wife of King Louis XV of France.
