Designed in the Arts and Crafts Style, it has embellishments in sterling silver and has the design of an engraved elk's head. The trophy is signed, "Sterling on bronze, pat. in Aug. 1912". Size: L-7” History of Object: A trophy inscribed, "Elks Trophy 3-CYC won by Pronto," owned by Lester Stone. Lester Stone (1892-1975) was the grandson of William Isaac Stone and the son of William Frank Stone. William Isaac Stone arrived from England in 1853 at age 20 and earned a Master Carpenter Certificate. He was in the boat building business until 1892 when his son William Frank Stone succeeded him; William Frank Stone died in 1914. Lester Stone purchased a home in the 1930s, at 1277 Caroline St., where he resided until his death in 1975. He was the uncle of the donor, Roberta Stone O'Grady.
