10/16/2020 MvL: back label is a transcription in simple print from the front: A TRIBUTE TO OUR CURATOR At our last meeting on October 16th, a resolution, which had been previously passed by the Board of Directors, was presented to our Curator, Mrs. L. H. Richards. It had been beautifully inscribed and framed by Director Leland S. Brooks, and reads as follows: "Whereas, Myrtle Lloyd Richards, Custodian of our exhibit in the Alameda Library Building, has devoted many years of conscientious endeavor, far beyond the call of duty, to the task assigned to her; and "Whereas, with the assistance of other devoted members, she has improved both the arrangement and records of the exhibits, often spending several full days a week at her work, always without compensation, and "Whereas, her enthusiasm and hard work are greatly appreciated by the officers and members of the Society; "Therefore, be it resolved by the action of the Board of Directors, and confirmed by the members of the Alameda Historical Society at the meeting of October 16, 1963 that, as an expression of our appreciation for her fine work and accomplishments, she be given an honorary life membership in the Society.
