No. 11.36.10 Subject Category: City of Alameda Date or Period: 1911, with updates in 1913 and 1915 Object: Folder, file Description: Acid-free legal size file folder with documents, which are numbered on the back with a stamp or handwritten number, and a stamp ‘Filed’, with a date, and signed by “F. E. Browning” (until 1913) “T.C. Coughlin” (1913) or "R. E. Bosshard (1915). In some cases the stamp has additionally: “CITY CLERK OF ALAMEDA”. Numbers range from 1751-1800. Size: L 14 1/2” X W 9” History of Object Miscellaneous documents from / to the council and/or mayor of Alameda, started during tenure of City Clerk F.E. Browning (with later additions), found in the attic of City Hall during remodeling in the 1990s. Documents in this folder relate to: assignments and resignations, and vacation requests, of personnel, including suggestions by the Park and Playground Committee regarding matrons; shifting around of money from the General Fund; Semi-annual reports of Police and Fire Departments; Item 1766, Alameda Daily Argus of June 19, 1911, with Delinquent Tax list; Item 1780- Police dept report of roster, no. of arrests, etc.; Item 1761; changes to the inside of City Hall to adjust space appropriation between Justice Court Room and Emergency Hospital (1911); Item 1795: letter, on letterhead, from the Oakland Traction Company, operator of the Key Route, suggesting promotional literature about the city be sent for display at their office. Also includes short note on letterhead of Lewis & Shaw, Real Estate & Insurance, 1504 Park St.; 1763-2; value of Real Estate, Alameda Division, Peoples Water Company, 1911.
