Description: Elaborate diploma, with bold heading in ornate type "Alameda High School", and illustrated with drawing of the early Haight School, at upper top. It is inscribed with the name "Hattie E. McDonell", and signed by C. L. Tisdale, Pres. of the Board, D. J. Sullivan, Supt. of Schools, and A. W. Scott, Principal.
Size: 19x24 inches.
History of Object: High School diploma of Hattie McDonell, 1895, who was the niece of P. A. McDonell, and was raised on Bay Farm Island. She attended Bay Farm Island School, and later became a teacher at that school, and was transferred to Wilson, Everett, and finally to Mastick. She retired from Mastick.
