DESCRIPTION: Background is blue; has appliqued lettering stating "Alameda Barracks No. 635 Alameda, California Instituted August 17, 1956 Veterans of World War I of U.S.A.". Has a center motif of red, green and gold with the insignia of the Veterans of World War I. Has a 3" gold fringe completely around it and is doubled faced. Has same inscription on both sides.

Note: The Veterans of World War I of the USA, Inc. was organized in 1948. In 1989, when it hosted the Veteran's Day remembrance at Arlington National Cemetery, there were some 100,000 WWI veterans remaining, whose average age was 94. The organization's executive office at Arlington, VA closed c. 2008, and the US Dept. of Veteran's Affairs acts as the administrator of this organization.
The Alameda group, Barracks #635, ceased to exist in the 1970's.
