Description: Galvanized metal can with screw top lid and spout, and also with a bale-style handle having a wooden grip. The body of the container has the original paper label with red and blue colored type on a white colored background. The label reads: "BOYCO". The body of this can is painted with a double band of dark blue colored paint.
Size: H-8 x Diam. (bottom) 7 1/2 inch.

ALAMEDA INDUSTRIES
A collection of sheet metal containers
produced by the BOYCO MFG. CO.
Originally based in Los Angeles it expanded
operations in 1923 when it purchased
property and initiated construction of a
manufacturing plant in Alameda in 1926,
which was located in the 1800 block of Oak
Street. In 1939 it was bought by the United
States Steel Products Co., which continued
the manufacturing of sheet metal containers.
