ACC. NO. 83.53.2 (a) and (b) SUBJECT CATEGORY: Clothing DATE OR PERIOD: c. 1900 (late) OBJECT: Stockings DESCRIPTION: Black Lisle lace. One pair: (a) and (b) Size: 26 1/2" long. HISTORY OF OBJECT: Stockings belonged to either the Misses E. L. or M. A. Dietz, founders of Sunny Cove Baths, Alameda (1881). These ladies came to Alameda from Oakland where their brother had founded the Dietz Opera House. Sunny Cove Beach ran up to the 1950's, The Dietz ladies were the great aunts of the donor.
