Date or Period: c. 1920s Object: Decal Description: square shiny paper with a circular emblem featuring a bear, a US Flag with 48 stars, a flag with a red star and a bear, and an image of a classically glad female warrior overlooking a Bay with multi-masted vessels, and the word 'Eureka'. Reverse has instructions for application, and company name: Made in U.S.A. by Borden Decalcomania Co., San Francisco. Size: L 3 1/4 x W 3 1/4 inches. History: Native Sons of the Golden West emblem Decal, found in a drawer of a desk, which was once stood in the Hall of the Knights of Pythias, on Oak Street. Desk was bought by William Chun, and moved to storage in the 1970s, where it got eaten by rats. The N.S.G.W. was founded in 1875 in San Francisco.
