History of Object: Bound volume of the Charter and General Ordinances for the City of Alameda dated 1894. The volume lists City officials and employees of the period. Also gives a list of police officers and fire department employees. This particular copy belonged to J.B. Lanktree, a Board of Education member and a resident of 914 Pacific Avenue. It was subsequently given in January 1953 to the Alameda Historical Society by then Building Inspector Ernest Rogers.
