Acc. No. 81.99.1 Subject Category: Theater (Nickelodeon) Date or period: Circa 1911 Object: Clock Description: It was manufactured by Waterbury Clock Company, U.S.A. It is an oak case 38 inches long by 15½ inches wide. The pediment of clock and framing around door are in steam pressed designs. The base of clock has applied carving. It has a full length front panel broken into two separate glass panels. Each glass panel has reversed painting on glass in gold and black. The bottom glass panel has the name "Regulator" painted in gold. Inside the case has original paper seals. The seal on the back has instructions for starting clock. Interior paper label says Waterbury Clock Company and various locations through out United States. The pendulum is oak shaft with a brass weight. History of Object: This old clock hung on the wall of one of the first nickelodeons in Alameda (Oak Theatre). It was located at 2308 Santa Clara Avenue. It was first opened January 28, 1911, by Mr. Edmond Heritage, who was the owner and manager. Acquired by: Mrs. Edmund Heritage Date: September, 1957
