Acc. No. 94.19.1 A & B Subject Category: Clothing Date or Period: 1960 Object: Hat in original box Description: (A) Blue velvet cloche style hat with veil. Interior lined with black satin and has silk embroidered label, stating J. FERRAND, Florence, 12 Via RONDINELLI. (B) Circular drum like box of heavy tan colored cardboard. On lid it has Italian postal stamps and postal marks. Size: Diameter 9-inches. History of Object: (A) Hat appears to be an original milliner creation, hand sewn. Created in Italy and sent thru the postal mail to donor in 1960. Mrs. Calpestri Craig's family came here to Alameda in the early 20th century. Her son, Italo A.
