The glass ambrotype image is enclosed in a wooden case with imitation leather covering and interior lining of deep purple plush fabric. (Note: this is not the original case for this image.) Size: L-3 1/2” x W-3 1/4” History of Object: An ambrotype portrait of William Worthington Chipman, co-founder of the City of Alameda. The donor, the late Roscoe Hamilton, was the great grandson of William Chipman. Acquired from: Roscoe and Darcy Hamilton Date: 07/15/06
