Inscribed by hand "Emily Jost," & signed by Frank Otis (President of the Board of Education). Undated. Size: L-11 x W-12 inches. History of Object: Diploma awarded to Emily Jost from the Haight Grammar School, Alameda. Miss. Jost married John F. Hanson (father of the donor) in 1913. John F. was the son of Capt. James Hanson, master mariner of 2204 Buena Vista Avenue. The Hanson family are known to have been residents of the city as early as the 1870's. Acquired from: Jack Hanson Date: 10-30-85
