Description: Typed copy bound with cover of black colored buckram. Cover has incised caption "In Memoriam, William Simpson" in gold colored type.
Size: L 13 3/4 W 8 1/2 inches.
History: A biographical sketch of the late William Simpson who was a native of New York and came to California in 1849. He was an early resident of Alameda going back as far as 1867. While living in Alameda he served on the City Council, a term as an Assemblyman and also a Senator for the County of Alameda in the State Legislature. A prominent member of the California Society of Pioneers. Died August 26, 1910.
Object given to the Alameda Historical Museum in 1952 and never catalogued.
