History of object: Article with heading "Guard Leader Dies When He Musters Men". Excitement over President's call is fatal to Captain Magagnos, Alameda Militia Officer. Magagnos was a dealer in photographic supplies and art goods, having a store on Park Street. He died from the results of hearing the news concerning the call up of Company G, Alameda National Guard, by the President.
