On the base of each original shade is attached a brass flange that rests in a circular frame which is attached to a drip style base pan. In turn, the circular candlestick base has an attached thumb & finger grip handle, piereed, that has one removable candle snuffer. No silver hallmark or manufacture identification number, etc. They appear to be English in origin. History of Object: Candlesticks from the sailing vessel of Capt. Fred. J. Hunt. They were brought to 1816 Lafayette Street, a home he purchased in 1896, following his retirement. Acquired from: Marjorie Hunt Date: 7-24-1993
