Description: A partial dinner set consisting of the following: luncheon plates - 6 ea.; soup bowls - 5 ea.; sauce dishes - 5 ea.; butter pats - 5 ea.; platters - 2 ea. This set is of hard paste porcelain with a pattern consisting of a circular of a gold filigree that is on a white background that meets a striped band in a pink color edged in gold. Also in the design is an inner border of an interlocking filigree pattern. Each piece has the elaborate initials of "A.A.C." This porcelain has no maker's mark, but possibly is from France or Germany.

History of Object: Dishes from the Fernside estate of Alfred A. Cohen, a prominent resident of Alameda. A lawyer by profession, he represented the "Big Four" in the formation of the Southern Pacific Railroad.
