Description: A book of 14 x 11 inch photos, mounted within a cover of dark green buckram, bound with 2 metal screws. Front cover has two labels, one of 'Lionel Wachs Co., Insurance Brokers, Oakland'. the other of 'Russell Aero Foto, S.F., Cal'. Inside front cover has handwritten in what appears to be blue marker: 'Airoplane views, Photo's in 1926'. Photos in the book are all stamped on the reverse with the photographer's name and ownership details: G.E. Russell.
Each photo has grey buckram backing and staple holes on the corners.
Size (book): L 11 1/2 x W 16 1/2 inches.
History of Object: set of 9 large photos with Aerial Views of Oakland, apparently to illustrate business properties handled by the firm. The 1st, 2nd, and 6th photo depict sections of the Oakland/Alameda Estuary.
Book was part of collection of objects from the family of a former boyfriend of the donor, being Albert and Lena Norman of 827 Barbara Rd, Oakland. The majority of these objects will be passed on, the objects relating to Alameda are added to the collection.
