A & B. report with cover of sky-blue construction paper, titled 'A preliminary Report to Department of Public Works on Alterations & Approaches to the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge', dated October 17, 1949 C. report with grey card stock covers and spine of black buckram covering three staples, titled 'Studies of Southern Crossings of San Francisco Bay', January 1959. Size publications: L 11" x W 8 1/2". folder: L 14 3/4" X W 9" History of Object: Folder found in the attic of City Hall in the 1990s. A & B are identical copies of a report suggested by the San Francisco Bay Area Council, Inc., to the California Toll Bridge Authority, discussing alternative approaches in San Francisco to the Bridge, and suggestions to move traffic to the lower deck during peak hours. C. mentions the San Mateo and Dumbarton bridges, constructed as private ventures, but acquired by the Toll Bridge Authority in the 1950s, describes the 1958 resolution for the Key System to abandon rail service and replace with coach service, and mentions the Trans-Bay Tube for Bay Area Rapid Transit.
