Franck & Son', some with handwritten 'R. Leggett', some with an ex-libris sticker stating 'M. Generaux', or 'Manon Generaux' and various addresses, on 'M. Generaux, A.H.S.', and one 'Wes H.'. Size (each): L 12" x W 9" History of Object: Collection of music sheets used by Marion Generaux, possibly on behalf of the Alameda High School, most of which were purchased at Franck's Music Store on Park Street. Of special interest are 'I want my Mammy' where the ex-libris sticker was placed on the face of the black figure, and 'Nobody Lied' by Karyl Norman (1897-1947), 'The Creole Fashion Plate', who was a female impersonator of mixed African-American - White descent, popular in the 1920s.
