Size: L 9" x W 14 1/2“ History of object: Folder contains correspondence about the forming of a City planning commission, including discussion of the establishment of 'Comfort Stations', which were opposed by Bowman Drug Co. Also reflects interest in the planning commission and activities by the Alameda Improvement Society. Folder also contains documents regarding visit of Mr. Chas. E. Hewes, City Manager, to city planning conferences in Riverside (1919 - with remark that it was not held in 1918 because of flu epidemic) and Cincinnati (1920). Finally includes (Feb. 3, 1920) a letter requesting funds to survey the possibilities of building a tube instead of a new bascule bridge to cross the Estuary.
