History of Object: Journal or diary pages written by R. Frank Clark, old-time resident of Alameda. Mr. Clark brought his family from San Francisco to Alameda in 1878. They resided at 1724 Alameda Avenue. On page A of the diary, Mr. Clark tells of a visit to Alameda as a guest of Mrs. Riddell. The entry is dated May 23, 1878.

Herbert D. Clark with chinese cook, & Mrs. Clark (mother of R. Frank Clark). Mrs. Clark died in Alameda.
