Soft cover booklets with cover design in type in various shades of blue, staple-bound at at the side. Bold printed caption, ‘Alameda Merchant Stamps’. Undated. Insides are printed in different colors: A: blue, red-brown and purple; B: black; C: black, navy blue, teal, brown; D: turquoise and dark brown; E: navy blue and brick-red. E contains a small sheet of unused stamps. Supporting businesses are listed in the front (A-C) or in the front and back (D-E).
Sizes: A-C: L 6 x W 3 1/2; D-E: 5 1/2 x W 3 1/2 inches.
History of object: Unused booklets for pasting in Alameda merchant stamps. The lists of supporting businesses change a little from one booklet to the next, and the list of Directors of the organization, with A. having W. Flanagan, J.F. Hanson, Jr., R. J. Franck, J.A. Chapin, Jr., and Robert Greeley; B. and C. not having Flanagan or Greeley, and having added A.J. Pagano and Don Oransky; and D and E. not having Franck, but having added A. M. Storehouse and R.W. Nelson.
