Title 'Dedication Ceremonies Donald D. Lum School' Size: L 8 1/2 x W 5 1/2 inches. History of Object: Dedication program of the Lum School, October 19, 1961. The school was designed by Warnecke and Warnecke, builder was James E. Roberts Co. The plans at the time called for an additional 5-8 grade school (1965 Wood Middle School), community recreation facilities, and a branch library (never built). The school was named after Donald Dyer Lum, at the time sitting president of the Board of Education. The school was closed in June 2017 after a report was published that found the landfill soil was subject to liquefaction and the foundation was not earthquake safe.
