History of Object: An oil painting of a Mansard-style building erected in 1879 for Patrick Britt (later owned and operated by Fred Croll). It depicts the first floor of the structure when it was the office of A. R. Denke, architect and builder. This painting was rendered by John Sheridan who painted this scene for his wife, who was a descendant of the Croll family.
