Note additional family history from donor. Quote: "I'm enclosing my mother's library card. It must date into the 19th century. She was born in "Encinal" in 1875, her pregnant mother having gone by boat to the Isthmus of Panama and across it by train, and thence to Alameda, where my great-grandmother lived. And it will be nice to think of these things in Mastick School....My brother and I all went there. I was terrified of the principal, Miss Gertrude Treanor. When I graduated I won the $10 gold piece, The Lucretia Mastick prize for something."
