In a game of chance, you might win a Kewpie Doll, a clock in a ship, a tea pot, or a sugar bowl. The Neptune Palace Theater held contests on Thursday and Sunday nights. The grand prize was this Bucket of Cash! The trophies and medals here were won at swimming competitions in the pool. Leo Purcell, whose name is on one of the trophies, later established his own bathing resort. Purcell's Plunge opened in 1936 and closed in 1961.
