History of Object: Papers relating to the Fire Department, 1917-1919. Includes information on salaries from San Francisco, Stockton, Pasadena, Oakland, San Jose, Berkeley, as well as the August 1, 1917, and January, 1918 salaries. Further brochures and information about equipment; personnel issues (resignations, promotions demotions, leave to join the military). Also, sale of a horse, mare, and wagon to August Weihe, Oakland, Dec. 17, 1917, and East Bay Water Company installing a main on Clement, and stating they think painting fire hydrants white is a good idea, but they can’t afford it (1919).
Miscellaneous documents in this folder: Alaska Packers informing City Manager Hewes that the US Shipping Board Emergency Fleet Corporation will be dredging in Fortman Basin, and filling the Liberty Ship Yard (1918); Bay Shore Club, South Shore, Ninth Street, warning about lack of signaling at the bulkhead at the foot of Ninth - Letterhead includes a print of a photo of the clubhouse.
