No. 24.11.2 Subject Category: Sports, Golf; Citizens of Alameda Date or Period: 1930-1962 Object: Trophy Plaque with names Description: Thick wooden plank section, routed and cut into a shield shape, with thick central red copper plaque flanked by two yellow copper plaques. Central plaque has in raised lettering: Alameda City Golf Championship, and a design of golfers. Names are engraved into the center and left plaques. Five of the names on the right of the center plaque are women’s. Size: L 15” x W 12” x 1” thick (wood 3/4”). History of Object: Trophy for the Championship competition arranged by the City of Alameda from 1930-1959 and 1962. It was in a display case at the restaurant at the Alameda Cuck Corica Golf course, until new owners needed to modernize the space.
