a. Envelope with bold printed caption "Nineteenth Flight- Cavite, P.I. to Alameda, California, U.S.A. Addressed to Pilot R. P. Bowman, c/o Bay Airdrome, Alameda, Calif. The rest of the envelope face is entirely covered with Philippine postage stamps. On the reverse side is a printed list of the personnel aboard the plane.
Size: L-3 1/2 x W-6 1/2 inches.
b. handwritten letter on stationery from the Manila Hotel, Manila, P.I. Size: L-8 1/2 x W-5 1/2 inches.
History of Object: Letter & envelope addressed to Ray Bowman, San Francisco Bay Airdrome, from Theron E. Griffin, Engineer Officer, Pan American Airways (China Clipper). Sent on a historic nineteenth flight from Cavite, P.I. to Alameda, via Guam, Wake Island, Midway Island and Honolulu, 1936.
