Acc. No. 97.115.1 Subject Category: Schools - Alameda Grammar (now Lincoln) Date or Period: 1891 Object: Photograph Description: Sepia-toned albumen print photo mounted on tan paperboard. Photographer: Schilling & Co., San Francisco (per imprinted message in blue ink on the lower margin). Image is damaged by white ink numerals written upon it, as well as an old green cataloging label attached to the upper left corner. Attached to the upper margin of the mounting is a white typed description label (L-3 x W-8 1/2 in.). Attached to the verso are two letters on white stationary (L-10 1/2 x –7 1/4 in.) written by the donor. The mounting has nail holes and two damaged corners. Size: L-6 x W-9 in. History of Object: School class portrait, possibly the 4th grade, taken at the old Alameda Grammar School in 1891. Acquired from: Edwin Otis (1951) Date: 3/15/97 Pre-1971 donation, old cat. #77.
