Description: Grey colored graniteware (molten affect) chamber candlestick holder. Circular pan supports candle holder with protruding drip lip. Finger grip handle welded to rim of plate (or pan). Size, 5½ inches across pan, 2½ inches high.
History of Object: Chamber candlestick used by the Abram Rich family, early pioneers of the West End, Alameda, Ca. Rich erected his home at 1620 4th Street, circa 1868, on land purchased in 1866, from W. W. Chipman. The house is still standing (1983) and is occupied by the descendents of the original owner.
