Helena was born in Alameda in 1907, after her family moved here after the 1906 San Francisco Earthquake. Helena died in San Leandro, 2005. Assemblyman Robert Crown lived in Alameda. He was in office from January 7, 1957, to his death after being hit by a car on May 21, 1973. He was elected 9 times for 2-year terms after an initial loss. Robert W.
