Book of poems written by Pro. Lesley Rickson Bates (born Montana 1889, died at the age of 93), old-time resident of Alameda. Raised in Alameda, he was the second son of Henry Leslie Alexander Bates, and brother of Major Norman C. (marine), Dr. Edward, & Henry J. Bates. The Bates family lived at 2111 Buena Vista Avenue, and were longtime residents of 727 Paru St. Mr. Bates was the brother-in-law of the donor.
