Lacy curving branches terminate into gas candles. The canopy and support stem are in a ribbed design, which is repeated on the main body of the chandelier which supports the branches. Each arm has an ornate gas valve in a pseudo fleur-de-lis design. Size: 47 inches in length, 21 inch expansion. History of Object: Chandelier from the dining room of the Garratt Mansion, 900 Union St., Alameda, erected 1893. The home was built by J. A. Leonard for Wm. T. Garratt, heir to a San Francisco brass foundry fortune. Acquired from: Royce & Betty Gladden Date: 8-27-83
