It measures 2½ inches in height and 2½ inches in circumference. It has a hole in the loop at the top of the bell. History of Object: This bronze bell was used on an old bus that was operated by Mr. Herbert Townsend in 1880. It was driven from Park Street Alameda to 23rd Avenue, Oakland. He rang the bell to attract patrons. Acquired from: Mrs. Fred Elvin Date: July, 1954
